Programs Leading to a Certificate of Achievement
In certificate programs, students are required to complete a series of
technical courses in their major field designed to provide them with the
skills necessary to gain employment and succeed in entry-level positions
in the health care field. All certificate programs also require an
externship, clinical rotation, and/or fieldwork experience that consists
of unpaid work experience in a physician's office, hospital, clinic, or
other appropriate work location.
Programs Leading to an Associate in Science Degree
In Associate in Science Degree programs, students are required to
complete major field requirements designed to provide them with the
skills necessary to gain employment and succeed in entry-level positions
in the health care field. All degree programs require an externship,
clinical rotation, and/or fieldwork experience that consists of unpaid
work experience in a physician's office, hospital, clinic, or other
appropriate work location. Students also are required to complete
courses that expose them to five areas of general education:
Communication, both oral and written; Mathematics; Social Science;
Humanities; and Natural Science.
